Does it make any difference if the domain was purchased as private or public when it comes to SEO ?

For a PBN? Private would keep Google from knowing the same person as xyz.com owns the domain. Allegedly Google MAY be able to see though private anyway... people have floated this idea, but its not 100% certain. For safety I'd go private for PBNs if the same name on the money site registration. Some even (many here) use alternate names on PBNs to avoid buying private.

In general private will also garner less spam to the email you use. People scrape registrations and spam then sometimes. I prefer private for convenience.

No "SEO" boost though.

If you are building a normal money site, it is better to register using open data until and unless you seriously need to hide the data for privacy which depends on the niche that you are.

For PBN sites, a mix of both private and public should work well.

as for SEO value ive never noticed anything different for private v public whois. You cant have private on a lot of TLDs' anyway (eg .co.uk)

So is it OK to keep all the PBN domains on one registrar with Privacy or should be better spread across multiple registrars?
