PRISON for fake PPD website? Advice needed

Under no circumstances contact them. They don't know your real identity and by contacting them you will be admitting that the data that they have is you. Once they know who "you" are, they start getting your countries' law enforcement involved, etc...

Shut down the operation and reconstruct it using fully-anonymous data, so that there is no way to connect the site, the method/operation to you.

Lots of dumb advice here from even senior members, such as "contact an attorney". Everyone assumes that attorneys are their ally and advocate. That attorney you contact could easily contact this law firm, tell them who you are, work out a private arrangement to throw you under the bus and you'd never know it.

Such as, "your" attorney gives your identifying information to a seemingly unrelated assistant, who contacts the law firm looking for "you", and the assistant works-out a deal for a "finder's fee" or "legal consultant" or "investigatory service", collects maybe $500, $1,000 and splits it with "your" attorney.

Meanwhile, "your" attorney then receives legal correspondence that he is legally, ethically bound to respond to, and inform you of, which in short is "They're suing you, and they want $xx,xxx. And, at the end of the process, after you've been horse-fcked and completely ruined, "your" attorney gets another check from his assistant for "legal services".

if it were me, i would ignore it cos those threats doesn't work in my country....so basically it lawless in my country..
i will keep making my cash and if they ever banned my domain, i will just move on to next domain and rinse and repeat again and again and again and so on..

I'm rather stunned at supposedly well-informed "senior" members advising you to contact the attorney when, based on your censored document, they haven't got your name. If they had your name, they would have used it, and if they had your address, they wouldn't have sent an email, which has less evidenciery value than a registered/certified letter.

Most other senior members I've read here would advise NOT contacting them, so I wonder if their accounts haven't been hacked or handed over to law enforcement in order to help facilitate the process of criminals providing assistance in their own prosecution.

Oh, and, the idea that The Pirate Bay is a Federally-run sting operation is almost a no-brainer, so if you're reading this and your reaction is doubt and/or surprise then it's a good idea that you get out of "black hat", because that's how they do things.

I got some mail like that a while ago from a starbucks owner cause i made a fake starbucks site. and promoted like it was coming to an country. I was just like you very scared.

Just follow the steps what they say and remove domain permanently & do what they say. Tell them that your sorry and you didnt know the rules. After that I did that. I never heard anything from them

OP you are based in EU and feel safe against US laws ?
Maybe you should grow up a bit and study some facts.
What you did is copyright infrigment which is not a civil case but business related since you made money out of it.So they can hunt you down even in the EU and if they are a smart company/law office they would be even able to hunt you down in 95% of worlds countries under UCC .
Even if it would be just a civil case they "could" get your ass in europe which always depends on the cost/profit relation like in every case in a company.
Calling or answering by email was the stupiest you could do.You just confirmed that you were the administrator of that website.
Now you are in their hands where they can decide if they take legal action or not.
Since you are based in the EU the probability getting sued is low because of a bad cost/profit relation but your stupid call just increased the probability

I would not be that stupid to answer from my personal email where they can get ANY info on me. Did you, all of you, think that I was answering from my personal email and does that make any difference?

Do you know what an IP is ?
There are now 2 possibilities they could do to get your data.
Check the email for your IP.
If the email contains the IP of the mailserver instead yours they will contact your provider for your data and ip .
You opened them a lot of possibilities instead of just deleting the domain.
Why do you think a law company is asking for :

c) Provide us written confirmation of the destruction of all personal user data
d) Provide us an accounting of all revenue derivered from the operation of the Domain

Cause once you send them these 2 information their case is a low cost no brainer which means their cost to sue you would decrease dramaticly since they dont need to proof anything in court as you already admitted to be responsible by providing these 2 informations and the case would be already closed during an hour
and the relation between cost/profit could turn that case profitable for the suing company.
Lawyers are not your friends they are being used to make money or to protect a money stream and nothing else
and to accomplish that they use all tricks

Yeah, I just don't know why people think that I had their name in the domain. I didn't. It was just a random letter and that word is not making any sense and it's not related to them so. But yeah, I learned my lesson and it was really a wake-up call. Just because I knew how to monetize fake shit doesn't mean I should be doing it all the time.

I know how lawyers work (at least in my country). They're trying to scare you. Keep in my mind that those guys work for the money so if you let them know than you're poor as fuck (you have no property on your name), they'll see you as a waste of time. Sure, they'll keep threating you but get real. Who would spend thousands in prosecuting some teen boy in another country just to take down a website?

Advices:
#1: Don't get scared by lawyers (nor cops) EVER. Know your rights.
#2: Get yourself a lawyer, but make sure he's good.

Edit: Btw, Idk how laws work there, but at least in my country you can't go jail for your debts (unless they're tax related or child support). You could get a 1M loan in the bank and just don't pay it and you wouldn't go to jail for it. Keep in mind this is a 3rd world country so I think in yours, things would be the same, if not better.
