I'm looking for a cheap to operate printer. All I really care about is it must have the standard all in one stuff like copy, fax, etc and it must be cheap as possible to print black and white documents and envelopes, as in cheap ink. It of course needs to be reliable and relatively simple to use.

    Any recommendations?

I only use HP because I've been refilling the cartridges for years now and have it down to a fine art. others may be just as easy though.

HP is crap now. Ever since that woman ran it into the ground. We have 8 recent HPs at work and they uninstall themselves and die at the least opportunity. Meanwhile I have a 20 year old HP LaserJet that just doesn't quit. It's a disgrace.

At home I have an Epson Workforce 310. All in One, flatbed and sheetfeed. Very inexpensive and a real workhorse. It also plugs right into my router so all the PCs can use it, no sharing required.

If your concern is reliability, it's laser or nothing. They're also cheap as hell now.

Watch out for the price of inks. If you get an HP or Lexmark then the replacement ink will cost more than an Epson or Canon plus refills. Check the cost of running the printer.
