Say you saw a great SEO tool that does exactly what you wanted.

You had a free 7 day trial of it too.

Then it came to purchasing.

What would you prefer upfront cost and long terms savings or spreading the cost but paying more in the long run?

As an example, $29 per month or $149 up front?

Depends how long I’d use it for.

If I can get my research done for sites in around a month or 2, I’ll pay monthly and cancel once I’m done using it.

If It’s long term, then I’ll just pay upfront as it’s cheaoer

If I dont know where I will be at after a month or two, I would go for the monthly fee.

149/29=5 months. if i felt i would use that tool for more than 5 months, no brainer go for up front payment. if unsure go for the month to month. can always upgrade later.

You're more likely to get more conversions with the $29/month plan. It's easier to drop $29 than $149. Plus you're more likely to have clients on the longer than 5 months, thus earning you more than your original $149. I say go with the monthly plan.

To be honest, even if I'm not sure whether I will use it for over 5 months, I would prefer a one-time payment upfront. Something about monthly payments bother me and I really hate them. Sometimes it's cheaper to pay monthly but I still prefer a one-time payment.

Have both options?

From a sales view its nice to have a recurring income source. Then also offer the one time upfront payment option
