Preventing Scam by increasing the level of Alert

Well, maybe it's time for BHW to consider stepping in with a 1-2 Jab, Right to the face of shadows realm.

Time/Age is not our friend. So, we won't care about this factor.



This is the rule I would love to see on BHW:

All paid membership levels below 100-300 Thanks/Likes, should have a small warning sign somewhere around their profile. It could be even a question mark.

I personally would set it to 200 at least, but anything will work. This is the hardest thing to be manipulated, and helps tracking inactive accounts.

Hover or click would allow the user to read some text form that would simply Alert user that the member might be considered as dangerous.

Someone could write the whole thread around this, and put a link to the thread inside that small warning sign.

TBH you will be able to calculate this on your own.

Unfortunately, people are rushing into scams. This has nothing to do with BHW of course, it would simply raise the community awareness.

Unfortunately the ability to be scammed has nothing to do with age on site, number of likes or some text around a profile. It's about common sense, would you simply send someone money without checking out their services first? Without speaking to them? Without seeing what they have said in the past? Many online stores don't offer this ability, on BHW we do. When you click on a member's profile, you can see the history of their posts. If you like what they are saying, then you delve deeper; if not, then move on to the next provider - always buyer beware.
