How can I stop google from changing the page title. Or is that even possible??

I really don't like the google title.

Well, titles is something with which Google cannot play... Google will show content from your title tags as your title.

You do not realize how wrong are you in your statement...
Just go and search for your website for various keywords. You will wonder what titles are there.

I changed my title a week ago and after a few days it was reflected in the Google search, however a few days later Google decides i guess it liked the old title so nowit displays the previous title LOL! So Google is not only playing with description nowadays....

I can confirm that!
Changed index page title over a week ago, pinged, built backlinks and nothing changed on SERP to the day we speak...

Google IS messing around with the titles. John Mueller via Google Webmaster Central:

"In general, when we run across titles that appear to be sub-optimal, we may choose to rewrite them in the search results. This could happen when the titles are particularly short, shared across large parts of your site or appear to be mostly a collection of keywords. One thing you can do to help prevent this is to make sure that your titles and descriptions are relevant, unique and compelling, without being "stuffed" with too much boilerplate text across your site."

I have tried to make the title unique and remove keywords, but I haven't seen any change. I was wondering if any of you now any other methods of solving this problem.
