I sometimes take content from well ranked expired domain websites, and everytime I publish, its like I start of with the same rankings as the previous site, expect just not as good probably, but it always seems to be some sort of boost.

Unfortunately I'm living it myself haha. But hey, at least it's something that happened at an early stage of the site (1,500 visitors/month). Should be able to get new site up to those numbers in a few weeks hopefully.
If he sold the domain then he sold just the URL.
If he sold it as a sit, then the content etc would be included.

Good idea. Maybe I'll reach out and see if I could get em to sell it back, although I doubt they would want to sell it. It is a pretty good micro niche site name. We'll see though. Thanks for the suggestion.
