    hey guys,

How is Press Release working after Penguin 4.0? 400 links are pointed to a site in few days, do is cause any negative effect?

How PENGUIN ALGO treats such type of links created in short period of time?

    Thanks

Press releases are treated differently than normal links. Google knows very well that you launched a press release and likes it. Press releases are as safe as it can get.

I am always very cautious with what I do with my white hat sites. But you have to realize numerous businesses send our press releases, from small businesses you've never heard of to billion dollar businesses. Majority of the links don't even get picked up and are no follow, so it's pretty much impossible to get penalized. That being said I always use the URL or company name rather than a keyword. Just to be safe.

Try spreading your links out over a period of time where possible.

All I can say is that PR only boosted my website. No bad side I guess since it's covered in content and complying to regulators rules.

Nope, we have 2 clients who triggered Penguin with them because their PR guys thought they'd know about SEO. They can be safe if you pay attention to two essential details:
    1. Pick a decent press distribution list. Many distribution services try to push the number of sites they post to by adding dozens or hundreds of (sometimes self-owned) crappy wordpress blogs.
    2. Never use any anchor text except pure URL or brand for links from press releases. Never. Ideally, you don't want any links in it, except in the company profile.

Right before penguin 4.0 to go live, I've made a PR for a website on which I've used 2 anchor texts and pure URL.

From nowhere it is ranking on a 240k/month volume keyword - #35
    From 100-150 on the second keyword 60k/month - #60

I guess it matters what platform you use for your PR.
