I am wondering if I should be ordering a press release package from PR web for a new site of mine. I want it to have some authority. But, all I see around is poor quality press releases that get picked by low quality sites.

Anyway to do a press release and attract coverage from good quality websites? I am even open to a service.

I had a package with prweb/vocus in 2013 and 2014, ability to post one pr/day. They do get picked up by low quality sites (most of the time) but they are normally small local news sites, so in my opinion it was good for high quantity, news related, diverse links.
One thing I was doing was, when a decent site picked up one of my releases and it was ranking in Google, I would then drive some bl to that page that was ranking to give it a boost in the serps. It seemed that traffic that came from that method was higher quality.
I know that prweb/vocus changed their pr packages so not sure how good the value is now.
If possible, I might be interested in going in half with you on a package if it will result in a better deal.
PM me if interested.

It would depend upon your niche as well as the quality of your press release, so yes, prweb could give you a good exposure.

I published some press releases on PR Web, but now the links look as if there are going through some redirection process, even though I paid for the $299 packages.

I think its not worth it anymore...

BHW have lots of high quality PR services just search them.

Pick up a package from here and see how it turns out for yourself.

which ones do people recommend? there seem to be so many to filter through.

press releases have been devalued some time ago already by google official statement
and can even get you in trouble if made for link benefit in a glaring way

This is actually the TOTAL OPPOSITE of the truth. Please don't try to misinform other members.
Since the end of last year, big G has given power back to press releases, as well as letting them show up in G News alongside huge names like WSJ

In my opinion, yes PRWEB is good... as I have got good traffic to my site after i published one PR in the premium pack of prweb. The requirement is your PR should be VERY high quality and attractive for readers.

Thanks for posting that article. Every article I read on the web has it wrong. That's very good to know because PRs can be helpful in several ways.
