Press release and/or Blogging Question for local

A Local town Business to Business (B2B), Business to Industry (B2I), & Business to Gov't(B2G) is switching from a township run entity cause of state budget cuts to a more private township chamber of commerce like entity. I am a member of this. Should I blog on my own contractor website or do a press release about it? I doubt the town will put super effort into it and it has my keyword location in it.

I chase more commercial and industrial style work and figure this would double dip for me. Could I also throw it on my wordpress site and do the press release? I figure this would show town involvement, it would also show up high for businesses in the town looking for the organization for the first time, and see that I am a member.

Yes, this is the same town as the newspaper column thing I mentioned before.

Damn! I knew I wasn't that smart to think that up originally, but at least I am sniffing opportunities out all the time and trying to make them work though. I am reading up on it now. Thanks for the help again!

Getting back to the newsjacking, I was reading the website explanations for it. I was reading where it has a negative fingerprint to some aspects. I think I can spin it as a member.

My township has a municipal government sanctioned business, industry, and institutional group for networking. It is now being transformed into a town chamber of commerce. If I can leech onto the news and the high placed link, as they go prospecting for all the businesses in town, it should help me out.
