Presentation on SEO

i am going to give a presentation on seo in my college.which should have 15-20 slides. which topics do you suggest i should be including in presentation

Easy..

- Introduction - What SEO IS, why Businesses NEED it.
- Different Types of SEO - Link Building, Articles, META Content, all the WHITEHAT STUFF (Don't be sharing BlackHat in college now!)
- Add some infographs on some slides.. Some are pretty big and should take up a full slide. Briefly explain the infograph
- Few slides on how Social Media (Twitter/FB, etc.) relates to SEO..

The introduction to SEO should be how it helps businesses, corporations, local businesses, and product owners get their name on the web.

The second concept that you should discuss is how important content is and how "unique" every article/press release, etc should be.

The third concept should be diverse link building and how important tier building is, including meta keywords, titles, etc.

The next thing you can run through is how important social media exposure is to make your business seem more legitimate.

Explain the concepts and purposes of Google Adwords and Adsense. It's a small form of exposure, but it helps.

Make sure these are presented with info-graphics and an impressive construction. You should be good to go.

one page for on-site SEO so they know the diff between this and link building (offsite). If you need another slide do one on reports (maybe Google Analytics) covering traffic sources (organic, paid, direct) and keywords

If it's to an audience that knows very little about the internet in general then definitely keep it simple. Explain why google is important and why it would be beneficial for a company to be ranked highly. Maybe some sweet graphs, explaining what google thinks is important like inbound links, anchor text, social media, ect..

SEO is divided into two On and Off Site SEO.

The On-site SEO focuses on optimization while the Off-site talks about link building and so on.

I suggest you talk about both briefly depending on how much time you have to explain them.

I would go with what smokin said plus add in a slide or two on keyword research. Let us know how the presentation went when your done.
