    Hey guys,

I am interested in getting into the premium phone line or premium SMS niche.

I am in Uni so have access to many university buildings/students/accommodation.

I just need some good ideas as to how I can get the students to either call a premium phone line or send a premium SMS.

I was thinking the best option would be bulk flyers and dispatch them in buildings/student doorms etc.

Only issue is I have no idea as to the creative side of it, what will they be submitting to etc.

I was wondering if anyone here has done this Premium Phone Number before and did they have success with it?

Also if anyone has ideas, lets bounce them around!

No nothing dodgy like not telling them its a premium number/SMS.

Information will be displayed saying either calls cost £1 a minute or text costs £1 a text.

Obviously prices will vary but the leaflets will have the info on for legal purposes and they will be professionally made.

    Just need creative ideas.

Was thinking of a service which texted/SMS what "student nights" were happening at the beginning of the day.

So on a Monday, if there was an event at xxxx place, then the SMS would notify them.

Students love to party - only concern would be that one person would get the texts and tell everyone else which acts as a hindrance rather than each individual having to text or call the premium number individually.

a few ideas for students could be:
reminders - for classes, tests, return books/movies
search - they could text a question you could return an answer

students are on a tight budget though so might not have have a lot of money to spend on premium text messages.

Trust me students arent bothered about paying £5-£10 to get into a club, let alone prices for buying drinks, travel etc.

Student life is not about small budgets, people spend excessively and party excessively.

If only there was a service I could provide to a student which they'd be willing to pay £1.00 a text for.

I was thinking maybe a competition: Win an Ipad or something like that.

Some sort of Christmas raffle theme perhaps.

Only downside is that is a one off, subsciption is where you'll make the real money.

From 1999 - 2006 I was heavily involved in promoting and operating these services in the UK, mostly Adult chat and sports information services.
I used to spend £15,000 - £20,000 per month on promoting.
I walked away from doing this full time because the profits dropped.
My advice would be for you to not waste your time.
