Predicting keyword trends or future keywords

I got a thought last night when I got spam DM on Instagram from a certain product manufacturer that enhances existing building material. It's rare for me so I thought I would ask from the wiser folks here.

The method they use is not that known yet and in the future, it might be a thing even. That got me thinking about what would happen if I wrote about that today, predicting what people might be asking about it in the future.

Would I have any leverage over the ones writing about it in the future? The search volume is not here yet and I don't know if "establishing" myself early would do anything for me in the future.

Anyway, just curious about it. Let me know if you have any thoughts.
