Prank Callers

Hi BHW,

If I think I'm getting prank calls from adult males with malicious intent, how do I pick up the call without getting screwed?
I don't want to get DOXed or anything by picking up the call. What can I do to check anonymously?

Whenever I get prank, scam or spam calls, I always tell them the person they are looking for died yesterday, and pretend to cry. They immediately hang up.

Nothing really to do but to hang up and block. Sooner or later they will give up.

Can't you answer the call with some heavy breathing and strange squeaks? Nobody wants to stay on the line with someone who sounds nuts for long.

Update: I actually did a "request a callback" earlier today with some housing estate agents and this was them trying to reach me. LOL!

As for me, I stopped accepting any unfamiliar calls to my private number. All of my friends and colleagues can reach my in the social media, so, I don't really expect anything useful for me from the phone numbers which I don't know.
