What are some exercises to learn web development? Something along the lines of "create a Wordpress theme to learn PHP" and that type of thing. They say the best way to learn is to do programming and I would like to know the best way to go about this. I've considered trying to build an application with Python on Google App Engine. What are some other ideas; and please feel free to include any languages you feel are appropriate by exercise.
