I randomly found this site (10pc . info) while researching for high pagerank blogs/sites. The site has a PR9 and its 3 months old. How the hell is this possible? It's a fake PR but I think its more than a 301 redirect.

Probably the owner of the site is offering the link space for some money.
And the bad part is, that I already bought few PR8 sidewide backlinks from another person, with a similar PR8 domain. I was cheated. I paid 50$ / per sidewide link, a total of 500$. What can i do ? Is there any way to get my money back from this scamer ? Does Google knows about this trick?

Here are some similar sites with fake PR that i found

(prchecker . info) PR9
(articledomination . info) PR8
(regrindwinnower . info) PR8
(mo-mo . biz) PR7
(vvti . info) PR7

Anyone knows how they do ?

Yes Google knows. Google doesn't care. Because PR has little truth to how a site really ranks. Google can really care less for all the fools buying links on these sites, they probably say "serves them right".

Yes, Google is well aware of this trick and so are most ppl in the industry. Google warns against buy links so they don't care and they assign pagerank so they know this site doesn't have a PR of 9. As for getting your money back it depends how you paid, perform a chargeback or reverse the charge through your bank. If you paid by CC then def chargeback.

Some ppl are really good at scamming ppl, unfortunately you got hit. I recommend thorough research before purchasing any links if you choose to go that route, personally I stick with link building which is manually done by me and my team with occasional link purchases which are well researched.

If it seems to good to be true then it is, especially with link building. We have all been burnt so don't feel bad.

So, you looked at the domain age of the other PR8, thought it looked fishy, and STILL bought links? O.o

No.. i buyed the links 2 months ago but yesterday i discovered that i was cheated.. the guy seems to be very careful on details...anyway.. this is it:confused:

Check the backlink profile, can always check it on ahrefs. Check for 301s also.

I found that you can check legit website Google PR on : seomastering-com (Please change the "-" with ".") I recently parked my domain on a website and when i take it back and change the DNS to my web hosting, my domain PR was 5 for that one wholeday. Actually my domain is only PR1 and i the day after it i got the real PR1. I knew it was fake as i checked on the website that i gave you, if you use other PR checker you will never reveal the real website PR. Hope this helps.

I have seen many domains being sold with fake PR that seems so real. I use registercompass to look for domains and it has some tool to "verify" the PR of a domain. Sometimes even the "verified" PR gets spoofed.

A good thing to note is that it will be very hard to simply "find" PR6-10 domains.

Don't simply rely on tools and online checkers. Go look at the website yourself. One time I saw a batch of PR7-9 domains and they all pointed to the same website once I put the URL in the browser. A little common Sense can go a long way.

PR is not a factor to search for these days. now that the game is changed thanks to panda new algo, the thing you looking for is authority sites this is what Google cares about these days and Google consider a site with
1k indexed pages and 70k+ external backlinks to high authority.

you guys all said it is fake,
but i checked with all trusted fake pr checker says it is valid,
even i checked with google multidatacenter
or else i used "info:website.tld", yes it is directed to their own web page
i also use many website backlink check it had 20-40 edu/gov
do the same with alexa too

so?? could it be just dropped domain?
you just can't say it is fake while all the data said is valid
or else what kind of cheat this domain owner used?

There are a number of ways to fake PR and some of them will pass fake PR checking tools, I am not an expert in this area, however I know this is out there as I have seen many conversations about this.

And one last point, it is really getting frustrating all these scams out there, some on BHW and some outside of the forum. I just got burnt bad on two different blog network buys. One blog network had 250 PR0 blogs (this one is on BHW) and the other was recommended to my by a friend and his entire blog network was faked PR. So your not alone in this.
