PR5 - WTF! Site hasnt been touched.

Ok, now im convinced...Google has gone bonkaz!

I just went to a site that I haven't touched in ohhhhh, maybe 9 months, the site has had no fresh content, built of a basic online website building tool called "SiteKreator" which is not the greatest site building tool especially for SEO but wham!!! Just took a look and in my webrank toolabr it says PR5! This is a website for a brothel BTW...I build a site around the same time i built another site for a lawyer (polar opposites) and have been adding content for the laywer client on a constant basis and that site is still only PR2...

I have no idea how this happened and I know PR isn't the be all and end all but its got me f#$ked how this stale old site can be PR5 in Google's eyes and the fresh and more "Google friendly" Lawyer site only has a PR2...?????

Any one got any ideas cos its totally stumped me...Unless there was a PR update just recently (last couple of days) and I just didnt know...Regardless of the fact, Ill be slapping a homepage link to my new site on it...WOOT!

Any feedback would be nice...Ive got no idea??????

This is most probably a domain that had PR prior to you buying it.

I have recently purchased a domain which in the same way few months after that went to PR4. I did some analysis and put the url in the archive.org time machine and found out that 4 years ago it was an active site which after that expired and in the end went back to the "available" list in the registrar.
 
No, good try, but definitely not the case.

First of all its a 2LD so highly unlikely that it was purchased prior especially being that 1) its the exact business name of the brothel 2) its a very unusual business name and it would be a very slim chance to think that anyone had registered this prior anyways.

I already checked the domain age and web archive ages ago, both pulled nothing.

Still think Google is going a little bonkaz...:D
 
strange..but good. Sell some links for a monthly price if you can. Bank until your Pagerank remains. Isn't it all about money? Simple as that.

damn, pr5 is awesome
i have a few domains that went to pr3 without doing anything to them, all were new, google is weird.

yeh, i know, i instantly slapped a link on it to my new main business site (web design) but in terms of selling off it, if it were mine, id do it...Its a clients and if they jump on one day and see a bunch of links on their site, they're gonna freak

Look, i dont think anyone really knows the tricks to controlling their PR or if its even worth anything anymore but if you have solid on page optimisation, content and build quality links, with a few blasts in between :) you'll have PR3 and PR4 sites in no time.
 
Dude forget about the PR! If it is not making you money then why worry about it? PR is only going to help you when finding links to your domain. Your site could be a PR 9 and be getting zero traffic and making you zero money. Unless PR takes the place of cash money, I would say forget it like your ex girlfriend or boyfriend if you swing that way

I think there is a little bit of confusion going on here...All i said was WTF, why is this site PR5 and im being told to flip links and basically prostitute myself...lol in answer to Dan Da Man, definitely dont bat for the other side mate and would love to sell it but once again, unfortunately its not mine, its my work, but someone elses domain so not sure how he'd feel about prostituting links on it...In regards to selling the thing, firstly, id do it in a heart beat but im sure "MR H" is making enough spondula to take care of himself and all of he's pros kids at the same time and isn't one bit fussed about PR and site worth...Anyways, keep the conversation going if ya want girls and guys but im out...got my PR5 homepage link, got my monthlies coming in from SEO with the guy so im pretty happy at that...Have fun, enjoy
 
I have one PR4, 1 PR3, 3 PR2 to sell if somebody want :p

Some domains have PR just because they are old.
 
Yeah big G done gone crazy. In the past two months I have made about 40 autoblogs and 30 of them just got page rank. 13 got PR4 .. 11 PR3 ... 4 PR 2 and 2 PR 1. Hmmm... what to do with that link juice ... :confused:
