Hey guys!

I am working for a couple of well known personalities in my country, working on their reputation and the results Google shows for their name and related kws.

My question is, I see big news articles that are negative for my clients. The best approach to take them down is:

1. Try to position high authoritative pages, like Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter. Maybe also buying an article in a good authoritative newspaper and blast it with a couple of links.

2. Try to do negative SEO to the newspapers articles, do Google penalize and remove them of the SERPs.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Neg SEO on newspapers will not work, it might backfire.

Best would be to publish a positive article on other high authority pages to outrank them.

Neg SEO authority ? Most of the time it backfire as @Take Action mention. You better rank those people social media profiles on first page. If those articles shows in Google news just pay other google news approved site to publish article using same keyword.

Negative SEO didn't work well before and after this update MAY not work at all. Either boosting other rankings above it, or creating and promoting other NEWS items to outrank it would be an easier task by far. But if your client is a big enough name and the news sites are HUGE this may be a really really hard task regardless. I hope they have the budget.

Are you in Europe?

You might evoke the "right to be forgotten" and Google has to take the articles down.
