Faking PageRank is really easy and simultaneously completely retarded...
1). Buy a new domain like: my-dog-ate-my-homework.com
2). Redirect your domain to a PR10 site like
www.usa.gov
3). Submit your site to Google and wait for a PageRank update (1-2 months)
4). When the PageRank update happens remove the redirect, install Wordpress and try to sell your "PR10" site to the first fool you can.
This effect is temporary, within days or weeks of you stopping the redirect it will revert to its "real" PageRank.
** Disclaimer: I do not condone this sort of thing, it is really retarded .. this explanation serves simply to show people how easy this is to do and not get suckered into buying a domain without thoroughly checking its PageRank .. as always "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is".
