Everyone who uses PPV talks about CPA...but can it be used for your own products promotion?

You can do whatever you please, it's paid traffic. Give whatever one you choose a go, you won't go wrong with CPV traffic unless you target really stupidly and don't get rid of the keywords/urls that are messing up your ROI.

the problem w/ your own product is typically (unless you're collecting lead form fill-ins) you'll expect them to pay for it.

feel free to test it yourself, but in my experience asking a PPV visitor to pay for anything is a recipe for a failed campaign.

you could collect opt ins, build a list, and then sell your product to the list

that would be the ticket if you really want to test PPV traffic on your own product.

just make sure you have a test email campaign to compare it to so you know weather to blame the PPV traffic or your emails for the awesome (or crappy) sales.

I used to do really well with Zango back in the day.. mind naming your CPV of choice at the moment? I tried a couple that I heard about at adtech and they sent a lot of obvious bot traffic..

Yeah , you should use cpv to build a list and then email them about your product.
It's easier than trying to sell them smth inside a popup.
My 2 cents

ok thanks i've given it a go
