Long story short, I'm about to invest a lot of money in PPV with LeadImpact as part my initial marketing campaign for a brand I just started. I have been piecing my plan together and I have every aspect covered now except for the landing page(s) I'm going to use.

It's going to be an "ambush" campaign for an online shopping site I just started, which will target all of my biggest competitors. While I obviously would be happy with sales as well, the main focus here is brand recognition and to create at least a small amount of genuine traffic. I won't be targeting specific offers or anything, I am simply going to target my competitors' homepages with an LP that will go to my homepage. I'm not interested in needing to dilute CTRs or any of that stuff, just looking to create some genuine traffic and brand awareness without zeroing in on any specific offers.

Hoping somebody with PPV and/or LP experience can help me out with some ideas of what would work well given my situation and goals. I'd really appreciate any feedback anybody has for me, thanks.

I don't think this is smartest idea.
You would have to spend a lot of $$$ to brand your shop. Remember LI prices start at $0,015 for US per visit.
Also part of the problem is I see they send you plenty of junk traffic (IE 7 with small window resolution - popup is not visible at all).

If I were you, I would target buying keywords not competitors websites.
