PPV and pay per sale

Can I use PPV to generate sales (not lead)?. I have heard that it is hard to do but want to know your experiences on generating sales with PPV

yes, of course you can...
just offer the users the same product that they want to have...
but cheaper...
then you can make a lot of sales...
