Method 1: Host your file directly on the PPD service provider's server. For example Cleanfiles offers 60MB storage for new members, and your space is increased as you continue to get more downloads.
Method 2: Host your file with your PPD provider. Then get a website for your file (aka a landing page) and then install a download widget on the site. Users will be forced to fill the survey before the download begins. This is similar to method 1 but some say having a good landing page improves your credibility and hence you're more likely to get a higher conversion rate.
Method 3: Host your file on a free/paid hosting site like MediaFire. The file should be password protected, but should also contain clear instructions on how one can obtain the password. You should then store the password in a text file on your PPD account. (This method doesn't necessarily need a landing page though it is recommended.)

Yeah I'm inclined to agree because the method somewhat 'forces' users to try and get the password from your survey, because they have already invested their time and effort downloading your file,especially if it's a large one >50Mb. The other two suck (according to me) because the moment most users see any hint of a survey/offer on your page, they turn back and run awayThird method is always good
