i am going to try my hand at ppc, never done it before.

my idea is to direct ppl to an article, that talks about a problem.

    example:

direct ppl to an article that talks about "how to shave your head". the article give some tips about it, and at the end a couple of lines about a affiliate product related to shaving your head

    now, is this a good?

    Depends what are the keywords.

If you are working with extremely niche keywords, you can expect less reviews.

I'd recommend a quick lightweight site that talks about related information. Try having that article hosted in one of the inner pages.

If you are thinking of using an article directory/3rd party hosted LP, I have used this in past. But that wont be a long lasting solution.

It's a good starting point. You could also embed an optin link on your page. Just be cautious that you don't resort to a page that only contains an optin form. Google hates thin pages that don't provide any value at all.

Make sure you comply with Adwords TOS as they usually wont approve promoting of affiliate links whether directed or embedded in a website
