I wanted to get peoples opinions on this. To my understanding you run PPC ads to promote an affiliate offer. For example I could run google ads for certain keywords to promote someone else's product or service. Is this still viable in 2024? What are some of the pros and cons to this. Also if anyone could link me to thread or in depth resource for this it would be much appreciated.

zero experience here but I heard that in north america the CPC is too high, but still viable here in my country, Brazil. I'm studying the same path, I'm a front-end developer

From Microsoft Ads standpoint CPCs have gone up drastically for tier 1 countries. Is this still viable in 2024? - YES! But make sure you build a lander or a product review page first. Prospects are keen on reading what services or products are all about before they make an actual purchase. Otherwise you will be spending decent amounts with zero ROIs.

Anyone who's selling you a course about PPC marketing won't tell you the truth. It's a world of frustration.

The advantage of PPC is that you can get traffic quickly, sometimes within a day. Plus the traffic is targeted so you can advertise to specific countries or devices only for example.

The main problem is, there aren't any search PPC ad networks that are affiliate friendly and have quality traffic. Microsoft Ads used to be but they are now suspending people's accounts for many reasons. Also, Google Ads do the same.

Facebook ads are also expensive and targeting is difficult because targeting is done by interests, not keywords.

I do Amazon PPC marketing for companies, but I find ppc marketing with e.g. individual affiliate networks and ad networks difficult.
