I would say... This is where luck comes in.

There are many other handcraft or artisan post on different subreddit on their niche, but I don't think it garner as much sales as the right photo in just a single month.

But I've never tried it, so who am I to tell ?

Outsourcing to a factory or have in-house production.

The later needing investing for the proper equipment/tools and materials, but will come with more control and also lots of photo/video material to upload for more marketing.

Reddit is incredible if you know what you're doing. Many people underestimate the importance of warming up their accounts, you need to post a little bit inside the subreddit and provide value, then when you post something it's less likely they will remove your post.
