To an extent, yeah. It helps, not as much as a lot of other things.
GBP posts help keep readers/potential customers engaged with the GBP, which is a ranking signal. However, posts alone won't help.
Gotta make sure the rest of the GBP is optimized, has correct categories, services and products listed out, the GBP site is published and optimized, and the website itself is optimized too.

Only thing that will help with GBP it's having a fucking ton of listing but now it's way too hard. Google patched everything so don't trust scammer here !
Just did a little digging. That is spot on.. Guess backlinks to seo pages are the way to go right now.
:/ I've gotten some gmb reviews here to stick for 3 weeks now only time will tell if they are good.
Would daily be too much?

I was planning on doing AI content here but it seems like that might hurt the listing.

Not that I've seen. We use Jasper assisted content for posts.

Google has certainly cracked down on GMB creation/verification. Constantly battling thru multiple layers of verification just to get suspended once i receive the postcard. so fcking frustrating.

Publishing posts (that appear in the updates section at the end of a profile In the GMB dashboard) does help towards optimizing visibility in Google local search results and Google Maps rankings.
However, for better results towards such rankings, additionally ensure that the business information in the GMB dashboard is complete, in which you also need to ensure that the business is categorized correctly.
Do include photos, as listings with photos do get prioritized by the algorithms. Reviews also do strengthen rankings. And do not forget that embedding Google map on the website, helps the business listing to rank higher on Google Maps.

Google has said that Google Post have no measurable impact on rankings.
But, your posts will appear on Google services across the web, like Maps and Search and will show up in your local GMB knowledge panel/graph. They must comply with Google’s policies to appear.
Google Posts can and will improve CTR, engagement, and your overall brand which will lead to more LEADS for your local business. So they should be included in your Local SEO blueprint for any client.
