Posting to WordPress through Email

Does anyone have a method for creating wordpress posts on their computer and uploading the posts to their server.

Here is my reason for doing this. All I can afford right now is shared hosting and plenty of free hosting accounts. If I try to autoblog too much, it gets too intensive for the server, and hosting companies don't like that.

So I want to let my computer do the heavy work, then just upload the results. For a while I used a local install of wordpress and a syndication plugin, but that was a pain after awhile.

I am sure there are many ways to do this, I hope I can get as many ideas here as possible. I hope others will find this a useful repository of information also

This functionality is built into WP by default, but I found it a little limiting...I'd suggest you check out the Postie plugin. Pretty robust solution and gives you a little more flexibility as to how the email/post is processed.

Good call - I have heard of it from a site called newthinktank ...

Still, I am hoping for many more ideas and variations from all friends here

If you want to upload a lot of posts at one time, and then not have to deal with it any more you can use "CSV importer" it allows you to build a spread sheet and upload multiple posts at once... I use it and like it for some of my blogs.

It has multiple fields so it is very functional and versatile.
