Posting on deal/coupon boards

Can someone tell me the pros and cons of posting on a deals board such as slick deals or even a subreddit for couponing as far as getting traffic and effecting SEO? I am sure that these sites will probably not give to much authority but could aid with a promotion we are running that has pretty substantial mark downs in my field. What are your thoughts on posting to these types of forums and do you have any specific suggestions. There is already an email campaign that will be ran for the sale.

As a sub question does anyone have experience with coupon services such as honey (as a seller) that can give input on?
