You really seem like a serious guy,
mine is not 9-5 its 1pm - 10 pm and at that time I handle sales and testing for products developed by my company.
After that complete Internet marketing (which includes TV, Skype, Youtube Videos and many other random things in mixture)

I try not to be as serious as I seem.

My day starts at 5:15am. I handle breakfast and lunch prep, check and answer emails, walk the dog, and get some rep management work done. 15 minute drive into the office at 7:30. Work from 7:45 to 11:00, then head home to do some more rep management and work on the side projects I have listed in my Journey thread, plus keep an eye on my office email.

1:00 I head back to the office and work until 4:00 or so, then head back home and cook dinner for my wife and I, play with the dog, get some chores done, and do more work until 10:00. Sometimes I fit some relaxing in there.

I try to keep work to a maximum of two hours per day on the weekends we are home, though. Need to relax at some point.
 
I bet OP regrets not saying "dayjob" instead of "nine to five".
Although there would probably be people who would say " I don't have a dayjob, I work during the night"
 
Hahaha, so funny thread. The first several answers are hilarious, considering they are off-topic and on-topic at the same time.

Computer science student final year, NOT interesting in doing 9-5 job hope to become a full-time IM marketer.

About 9 years ago I posted my 9-5 in this thread and was making ~$45k salary for a company doing SEO/web marketing. I continued doing search marketing for companies since then. SEO/SEM marketing in the enterprise space has come a long way and big brands are understanding the importance of search marketing and paying top dollar (4x more than 9 years ago) for search marketers with a track record to lead their search strategy.

If your good at SEO, document your success. Search marketing is a hot position right now in the corporate world. My advice to SEO's entering the enterprise space and applying for jobs, is to show what you can do up front. Get yourself ranked, whether its a Linkedin profile or personal site, for the the job title/position you are applying for (it's usually so long tail no one else is trying to rank for it and piece of cake) . Always a great talking point during the interview.

As some may want to leave their 9-5, I love mine. I'm doing what I love, SEO! Best of luck to everyone trying to make a living with SEO. The demand is there, go get it!
