It do not matter if it is a page or post, as long as you have did proper seo.

IMO, pages are better than posts if you want long term rankings.
Posts are intended - IMO - for news sites. Posts tend to rank very well over the short term but tend to fall afterward.
I have seen than pages tend to stay put in the SERPs - even if they are not updated for several months or years.
But a lot else matters as well - so it's not that pages are strictly better than posts.
