Looking for some clarification:

1) Why was my post removed for advertising but 2 others are allowed?

2) Wouldn't any response to the OP's question be considered advertising? What's the rule on pointing to your BST thread if it's directly related to a topic or helps solve a poster's question?

You can apply there in tone of seller if that would be posted in Want to buy or Hire a freelancer but the thread was in General Social Chat . So direct selling was not good.
You sometime get mention of reason here from mods.

TL;DR, you can give general answers, but you cannot promote your own service. So for the question in the linked thread, you could point to the Marketplace itself, but not your own BST, site, or signature.

1- You were self promoting or selling Outside The Marketplace.

2- Not if the people replying don't have sales threads nor are connected to sellers.
