I've been doing some research this week after the penguin 2.0 shake up had settled and the common thread I've seen after watching some of my sites fall, some go up and some recover from a small fall with some high PR links is the anchor text profile.
I know diversification and naked links are nothing new, but all the non-corporate sites I'm seeing at the top of the SERPS, including some very competitive terms, have a large percentage of naked link variants. Anyone else seeing this as a (more) important factor right now than it was pre 2.0?
Real estate is a fairly competitive niche, and this is one of the first "non-corporate" sites that comes up for the term Toronto Real Estate (google.ca results). No, neither of these are mine, though I am in real estate elsewhere.

Shit site with fuck all backlinks (need to register to see the full picture on these)
This site, one of the only personal sites for "vancouver real estate" on the first page of google.ca has more links, but same idea.

Tons of diversity and lots of naked links.
As I said before, I know this is nothing new, but in my experience there's a new weight to naked/diversity.
