Hey people!

I've been trying to grow my IG account, and am currently posting 2 posts [photos] + 1 reel per day.
Does the post-frequency really matter in terms of your reach?
Can you get shadowbanned on Insta by posting too often?

I'm completely new to growing socials so pardon me if this is a stupid question, but any experiences / info would be much appreciated.
:)

There is an algorithm, but it is difficult to know whether it is random or there are certain numbers.

As someone who has gained millions of views on Instagram in the last few years, it's not all about quantity. It's a mix between the two. Views and growth will come with GOOD content, and if you enjoy what you are putting out :)

Posting a lot won’t hurt you, as long as it’s quality, keep showing up and testing what sticks!

Does Post Frequency Matter for Reach?
Yes — but it depends.
Posting consistently is key to growth, but more posts ≠ more reach automatically. Quality, engagement, and timing matter more than sheer volume.

You're doing:

2 photo posts

1 reel per day
➡️ That’s a solid start — but a bit heavy unless all 3 are performing well.

Rule of thumb:

Reels have the highest organic reach.

Photo posts are more for community building (engagement with followers, not discovery).

If you post too much without engagement, IG might throttle your reach temporarily — not a true shadowban, but the algo deprioritizes low-performing content.

⚠️ Can You Get Shadowbanned by Posting Too Often?
Not exactly, but here's what can hurt you:

Posting too frequently without engagement growth

Using the same hashtags repeatedly (especially banned or overused ones)

Posting spammy or AI-ish content with no originality

Posting too fast after creating a brand new account

So no, posting 3x/day won't shadowban you — unless you're posting stuff Instagram thinks is low-quality, repetitive, or suspicious.

✅ What Works Right Now (April 2025 IG Growth Tips)
1 reel/day → best growth hack (short, engaging, vertical, native audio)

1 photo or carousel every 2–3 days → good for trust + community

Use 10–15 fresh hashtags per post (rotate sets, include niche+small tags)

Engage 10–15 mins before and after posting (comment, like others in niche)

And super important: track performance. If one post format consistently underperforms → scale back or experiment.

Pro Tip
Treat Instagram like a game of:

Consistency

Testing

Doubling down on what works

The goal isn’t just to post more, but to post better, and learn what your audience responds to.

If you want, drop your niche or account type (like fashion, memes, fitness, etc.), and I can give you a sample content strategy with growth tactics for your space

Growing socials can be a taxing thing to do but yes it matters how many posts you post per day. Its important to know that you just need to be consistent with what you post and add at least 2 posts from the usual number of posts you do per week. Just be careful not to be flagged as spam.
