Possibly dumb question about link wheels

What is the reason for connecting all of your first tier Web 2.0 sites on a linkwheel? Why not create the Web 2.0 sites separately and link back to money site without connecting them..? Wouldn't this be an obvious way to cover the footprint? For example, wouldn't it be better to create 10 seperate Web 2.0s all linking to your money site but avoid connecting them to each other? Then on each of the open Web 2.0 sites create smaller link wheels around them with articles and SB blasts to power them up?

Personally I don't link any of my my first layer sites, and for the exact reason why you say. IMO doing so will leave an obvious footprint.

Just wondering.. what types of links do you build around the Web 2.0s?

Blast them with scrapebox and xrummer type of links.

It's a much bigger footprint if your web2s just link to same money site. Random links between web2s and some other links to high authority sites from same niche disguise the purpose of building web2s. Remember, you want to stay under the radar.

I randomize the entire linking thing; some link to each other and some don't. Plus, the URL they link to (the money site, generally) also changes. I link to inner pages, other websites, etc too. It isn't too much work but to be honest, I'm just testing most of the time. The results don't differ that much.

Just find and read "Project 1000" ebook. You can get it free from the best forum. Than you will stop asking for link wheel. In fact I create link pyramid and link wheel on 2 different blogspot sites. The pyramid was with 20 properties in tier1, the link wheel was with 6 properties and guest what. 20 days late the blog with link wheel was #8, the blog with link pyramid was out of top 100. The blogs was on EMD subdomains with keywords with 300 exact monthly searches and exact number of competitor pages ~100 000. Every blog in pyramid was with 2 links. First to main blog and second to random authority site with the keyword in url and with anchor to this keyword (wikipedia,youtube... for authority). The link wheel was create exact from "Project 1000" , with other properties, because some of the sites don`t accept members and some are nofollow now.

I use AMR for article submission with links to my first tier, as well as social bookmarking. I will use some services and Fiverr Gigs as well.

Also, I am working on my own private network. Nothing crazy and huge. But they are all legitimate sites with original/useful content within the same niche of my main money site/blog. Also, some of the article submissions might link directly to my Network sites as well as I spin the URLs in the links.

I usually don't link the Web 2.0s... would be a little too obvious with bigger schemes.

i just follow some simple rules. I make them randomly. don't make it just like an exact circle. make it random. and also keep the last one open. It will not keep any kind of footprint. and you will be safe. i am using this in my sites and they are totally ok.
