Go to wordpress.org and you can create a wp blog for free with a subdomain like

stang1101.wordpress.com ,but you will not be able to make money from it as they dont allow you to put ads (exceptions)

You can still make money from it.

Just use it to build link-juice for one of your affiliate pages.

I tried doing it but I didn't get any results its hard to find a niche adsense template or any such kind... so better go with hosting pal

Blogger.com is probably your best bet if you are looking for a free blog which you can monetize
