Hey guys,
I am not looking to defraud anyone on ebay.

I am just planning to buy an ebay account probably with a (stealth?) paypal account because I want to throw up a few products to see how fast and whether they sell at all.

For instance I want an auction that sells 10 of item xy for the price of $10.

I want to get sales and get the money but then send them the money back (because I dont have the products yet since I am still testing the waters).

Would that be possible? Are there any limitations to my thinking? Are ebay+paypal accounts being sold on here (BHW)?

The problem with this would be you will get negs from customers so at worst they'll ban your account and at best your account limits will not increase for at least a year.

Also, with eBay analytics, the more you refund a customer, your ebay account suffers. If you dont care about the account, so be it, but keep that in mind. eBay makes you choose a reason why youre refunding the customer. If the reason for your first ten orders is that you dont even have the item, they'll probably restrict your account.

Thanks for the responses.that is exactly why i want to buy an ebay account with a paypal acc.

i dont care whether the accounts get banned or restricted I just dont want a lawsuit whatsoever and i just want the axcount to test-sell a few items (without having them and refundimg every buyer).

Can i use the accounts that i would wanna buy on here for the exact purpose? Like buy accounts and immediately throw up a few items (no further verifications etc)?

Yea, you wont get a lawsuit if you refund the customers. For new accounts, eBay has a 21day verification before they release any money to you. I'd suggest you refund the customers before this time frame.

Hi

Personally, I don't believe it is good to sell and refund buyers to test the waters. It will raise red flags in ebay's eyes..

Note: If you don't mind the ban, as you indicated, it should not be an issue (not legal advice just suggestion)

Why not just sell things that you have?? That's a better way to "test the waters". Selling something then refunding will result in negative feedback and ultimately a restriction from ebay and paypal. Not to mention your defects will be through the roof!!

I supposed you could do that. But giving a bunch of refunds is not a good sign to PayPal and eBay could set off some red flags

If you plan to ditch the account after then I guess you'd be fine. Seems a bit odd though. Perhaps just search on eBay for similar items, look through Completed Listings and check what they sold for, how much, how often, etc.
