Possible to integrate Amazon Affiliate link on a wedding website?

I'm getting married and will be building a wedding website for us. We're registered at a few places, one being Amazon. Is there any way that I would be able to become an Amazon Affiliate and use the affiliate link for my registry, so that I would get paid anytime someone bought us something from our registry?

I'm unfamiliar with how Amazon Affiliates works. Would I even be able to make a link to our registry that still acted as a referral link? Thanks.

To add to this idea, if I create wedding websites for my friends (I'm the only person in our circle of friends who knows webdev), would I be able to do the same thing on their site? I normally do small websites like this for free, but it would be nice to earn a bit of cash from it.

U can allways start to read amazon affiliate partners program policy or what they call it to get more info.

Yes you can. Your registry URL might have this in it: &type=wedding

Change it to: &tag=YOURTRACKINGCODEHERE-20&type=wedding

If it doesn't have that exact string find another & and change it to &tag=YOURTRACKINGCODEHERE-20& and check it on the Amazon link checker.

I'm curious to know if you ended up integrating amazon associates on your wedding registry and how that experience was for you. Was it easy to implement? Did you come across any challenges? I am about to create my own website for my wedding in July 2014 and I have some basic wordpress skills but I have no experience with affiliate links.

Also, were you able to implement this process with your friends weddings?
