The only thing this accomplishes is the "posted 1 year ago" or "15 minutes ago" SERP flair.

Whatever you do, don't start a Justin Bieber fan blog and schedule posts in the past, say back to 1996. He was barely potty trained at that point!

Google knows what the actual time is when it indexes a page, no matter what the article date is set as. I've heard this theory before, but I really believe you'll be wasting your time here.
