Guys, I've been hearing that lockdowns might be making a comeback in the USA. Without getting into health matters or anything like that, I'm thinking that if this happens again, it could be the prime time for digital marketing. Let me explain my thoughts a bit, maybe someone has something to add that could benefit us all.
In 2020, agencies or individual creators without contracts on OF (OnlyFans) saw a huge opportunity when physical contact was banned. So, most men, confined and lacking physical contact, bombarded by shorts, TikToks, reels, etc., couldn't resist the temptation and opted for an OF subscription. This led to incredible profits for many creators worldwide. Consider this example: a man, infatuated with a woman who ignores him, discovers that she has an OF account during these times. His friend, who has been longing for her, creates a fake account and pays for a subscription, videos, photos, dedications, etc. The same happens with a university or workplace crush - the dream girl opens an OF account, and many colleagues do the same! This explains the surge in earnings for these creators.
So, what I'm getting at is if the old times return, OF agencies will see their profits skyrocket, returning to the same pattern.
They could see a profit increase, as could affiliate marketing for courses, languages, and the like. Many people, stuck at home, opted to buy cooking, exercise, programming, etc., courses. People got tired of doing the same thing and saw an ad for a course, got interested, and as remote work was being promoted, they didn't think it was abnormal. This type of business could also see a rise this year, very similar to FBA. Currently, the market is down, but if patterns repeat, FBA could see an increase in revenue.
Content creation would also see a boost. It's no secret that content creators know exactly what's needed to capture someone's attention and make it interesting enough to engage them in less than 3 seconds. That's the hard part, but if achieved, I'm sure there are thousands of ways to monetize that niche. Another would be in the programming sector. Freelancers or development agencies could start creating software or apps for businesspeople that offer something innovative in that sector, but also improve the remote work experience. Or allow scheduling meetings or have connections with apps like Notion, for example. I think those kinds of ideas could work.
Also, in crypto. What better time to inject capital as was done in 2020, reaching all-time highs again? It's no secret the absurd amount of money printing by the FED in recent years, giving out thousands and millions of dollars in subsidies to people who lost their jobs and their savings. They saw an opportunity, were receiving almost free money from the government, and they didn't trust the banks. What did they do? They put all their excess into BTC after paying off their debts, and all that money was printed by the FED to pay those subsidies. That's one of the reasons for BTC's high price, reaching 69k. Now, what I'm getting at is that this year marks the Bitcoin halving, and again, if we go back to those events, it means that the halving could bring surprises.
And many things like that. What I'm saying is that this would be like starting to think about future strategies for these situations. And don't start with the idea that we shouldn't make money off global events like the one we all know, but there's something very true: in business, the most money is made during crises, so we need to be prepared before it arrives... and remember how in many countries, toilet paper ran out...
