Hi guys, I need an advice here. I have recently built a new site in health niche and received yesterday an email and comment from this guys:

-----------------------------------
Hello,

My name is Josephine Bergson representing the advertising department of LLT Consulting Company and we are interested to place a banner/ad on your website.
You can see the banners/ads (design and sizes) at lltconsulting net /id_029e3
Our budget varies from US $450-$750/month, depending on the banner size you choose.

If you are interested for a collaboration please let me know.

Kind regards,
Josephine Bergson.

Their site looks sort of suspicious and I dont want to take any risk beacuse I put a lot of work in this site. What do you think? Do you have heard of them before?

Thanks in advance!

Just ask them for upfront payment and you should be fine.

This does sound off as that is alot of money to offer from the get go without you even offering any stats or media kit.

This does sound like a scam.

I am also considering the risk of them to inject some sort of malicious code on my site. What do u think about it?

Message a coder or a white hat guy and sent him the code they will give you in case you can't recognize anything suspicious

It could just be a blanket email request, once you respond, they might start checking the stats.

I got one of these as well for a newer site that generates very little traffic. I'm sure I made it to some email list. I wouldn't worry about malicious code, but I would be concerned that they wouldn't be interested when they see my traffic stats for that site. That old adage applies: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Think of this as if you were the one looking for websites to place your ads on: would you be willing to pay $450 a month to place an ad on a new website without knowing an additional details about that website or the webmaster? Your answer is probably no, so just ignore the message. On the off chance that the message was real, I'm sure you would get a lot more offers to place ads on your website, anyway.

Got exact the same shit today:

The website looks like a scam or something!

You just build a website and get a email its obvious a spam mail.

No the website is 6 years old...!! but the website they have look shit and not something professional.

Ask them for upfront payment. Let them know that no code they provide will be used but just plain banner and you will link to the url they will provide. After that, tell them your daily traffic stats. Let's see if they agree to your terms.

It seems suspicious to me. They are offering too much money. I suggest you to ask for upfront. I hope it will help you to understand, they are real or not.

Ask them for payment immediately after you set the banner and its ok :)

Thats how they access your public_hmtl , dont click anything in the email even if its a link to there site.

I was just planing to tell that you don't have anything to lose with this and then i read the post from lilmasta and changed my mind.

A search on Google reveals that it's part of a SPAM mail campaign.
