Possible Final Letter- Feel like quitting today ;(

I'm at work in my 9-5. I havent really made a single dollar from my site. Ive tried numerous techniques. I've followed instructions. I've paid for services. I've become a backlink whore. Yet I'm failing. Yes I have one site but just one site is a TON of work. I put in the time on social sites. I have them all.... twitter,facebook, pinterest, watever you name it, i have created a small presence and linked back.

I'm frustrated once again. I think if I had jumped into IM a couple years back before the G swinged its giant arms I might have had a better chance. Today, I checked my site ranking to my keywords, and I'm on page 5 with 100 links to each page. So 4 hundred and change! I've paid for ads which worked some what until my coupons ran out. Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Bing/Yahoo/MSN Ads. Tried them all. I'm out of ideas and I'm tired.

I'm calling it for the day, maybe I'll quit... I've been doing this for 6months now and I suck. The guys making money continue to make cash because they have bots, aps, better ideas...shit better everything. Dude, if i was an IM making thousands a month I would easily pay some programmers for watever tools i need to streamline the process. But my 9-5 only pays my rent and food.

Ive search for classes/courses and cant find anything really worth going to that isnt made up by the guy next door. I've attended several web seiminars that got me to this point but shit... its a lot harder than I ever expected and its just not working for me. I searched to be an apprentice of somone magnificent but the guys who are awesome at this dont have time or are too busy to even answer some newb questions. Besides, who would really hand out their cool techniques out for free?? Pshh, no one would. It probably took them years to refine and get to where they are.

I usually work through my lunch on my IM stuff. Thats how fuckin dedicated Ive been. Working all night and working on my days off. Today, I think I'm going to go outside and fucking stare at the successful people and just gauck.

One last thing, there are loads of good people on here. Some of you guys have given me some really cool free stuff. Free advice, free services, and free tools. You guys are awesome!! Thanks for everything.

I've been beaten by IM today maybe forever... blahhhhhhh. One less newb affiliate to worry about. Good luck to you guys.

ernie IM is getting each day taffer and belive me when i say the best keywords wont be reachable for us anymore.I know basicly people from the old adult scene how they invested in resources to get the first rankings and its mostly automated and has a value in 6 figures.Thats also why i never tried myself seo but also to not give google power over my income.
You need to have a look that there are also other traffic sources which are way easier and you get them instantly and dont need to wait for any updates.
Since you have no real funds you need to start from scratch .

I totally agree with you when you say, the people making
the real money are the ones that use the bots to automate
the whole link building process.

But I'm not giving up just yet, I'm going to be making a
purchase of the Ultimate Demon software soon and start
playing with the big boys, well try to anyways. LOL

I'm tired of breaking my back every single day in the
construction industry just to make my boss rich.

All I can say is that you have no reason to give up after
ONLY 6 months, I have been doing it way longer and
have still not given up.

Being on page five with that many back links just means
that the comp must be pretty high, just continue working
on that site and it will happen for you.

i know exactly where your coming from. Working a 9-5 and trying to do IM sucks because IM alone requires soo much time. Dont give up man. Ive failed so many times before i started earning money. Just earlier this month my adsense blogs breached google's first page and is now sitting at $2-3 a day. I just keep working hard and trying new stuff. Hang in there man. Hard work always pays off!

Find a KW with decent search, CPC, EMD available and low competition and it's really easy to earn with micro niche sites.

I find it very hard to belive that you have not made a single dollar. I dont even know what im doing, and I have a blogger site and even I with my very limited knowledge have made a couple a of dollars.

Instead of focusing on building backlinks, if you write great content focus on writing great content. You'll get indexed for longtail keywords and you'll get some traffic that way. If your content is great those longtail traffic visitors might create some backlinks for you.

If IM was easy then everyone would do it. Only the people who work hard, have patience, and the will to succeed will do so.

I have found it that without the proper software products SEO is a pain in the ass. That is why I'm going to start a new site and try Youtube+CPA this time, since a lot of people here got their first income with that method so it might as well work for me too Look at my registration date. Since then I had 3 different sites, and all failed, so I took like a 4 months break and now here I am again, ready for a fresh start. First rule in here and in life in general is "never give up"!
My advice for you is to give yourself a few days of rest, then try something new, as I'm doing the same.

Your first mistake was to misunderstand this business and maybe that you believe all the newbie out there that have a bigger ego then US and post miraculous achievement just so people start to ask them advices...

6 month is like 6 days in this, especially when you start from zero...

You say you do not have money to buy tolls then learn and cod them yourself... this is free...

What is nice here is that you can learn and make all by yourself....

And what would you think you can get in 6 month with one website and 1 kw?

For me you never pass the first stage.. you are not a newbie you are a learner...

Second in this business you must to never give up and learn for your mistake.... Keep a journal... see what is working and what not, see what was your mistake and change, see how each action affect your website.. etc...

You make an website... offer a service... build websites to earn some money to invest...
Learn php/mysql/perl/java/c++ and use those knowledge in your advantage to earn some money. What would you expect that you will build an website using some templates and that it, you build a few backlinks and you are on #1 the money will get you out of the house...

No.. thinks do not work like this....

The best thing that you can do is to keep walking... Take the week off relax and let the solution coming to your minds and next monday morning start all over again.

You know : I tried Adsense / Content Locking / CJ Offers and Amazon - and made money from them all -- but not the 10k a month that others have .. so I know it can be done ... really the only thing I haven't made an effort in is Clickbank because I despise alot of the products as really just a joke.

I think you would be better bringing yourself back to step one - with MNS type sites and start simple till you have some cash coming in -- then grow your project from there.

Obviously after 6 months it's probably the last thing you want to hear - to do it somewhat differently - also don't knock yourself out over backlinks - high quality content can make up for alot of shortcomings.

Whatever you choose - wish you best of luck -- if you can't make it after reading BHW Forum then this may not be for you anyway.

If you are low on funds or can't be bothered tweaking websites and layout because of perfectionist-itis, do what I do and sell affiliate products on Squidoo. Took less than a day to get a lvl 25+ account using iMacro script, they do the back-linking for you and you can experiment with article writing and use it later on as a resource for backlinking your websites.

Just try different things, your making progress and you've learned a lot; try your hand at video marketing, other forms of conversions and see if you can learn what works and what doesn't.

In the same boat as you. Just can't seem to get over the hump to making just beginners cash, much less a living. Take a break for awhile and read up on other things. Eventually the drive comes back.

Sorry buddy. As you said IM is quite hard these days, but this is where you need to be smart using the freebies, affordable services like fiverr and possibly JV with a guy to promote your site. There are lot of smart ways you can excel in IM, it doesn't always need lot of money. One should have a different plan upon failures and it's not only for IM but for everything in life. I would suggest you to be positive and give a last try, as others said you may be closer to success.

Its not for everybody, and its not easy. At the end of the day Google is making it harder for sites likes your to survive with out great content and heavy link velocity that takes major money.

I hope you try again because there is so much to learn besides just CPA and websites but hey it your choice.

I'm sure that's not his problem... it's that the income hasn't been worth the financial, mental, and emotional investment. Whether it takes 6 weeks or 6 months, the reward has to be worth the effort or you'll feel exactly how the OP feels. Which is why everyone replying in this forum "gets it"... we feel the same way. It might pass, it might not, but here's my 2 cents for what it is worth:

1) Adjust your goals if they are unreachable. In my first book there was an entire chapter dedicated to goals, and it stressed that a goal must be both realistic and challenging. Nobody ever sang about "I wanna be a hundred-aire, so f***ing back...", but you can't go chasing unicorns either. If your goal is to make a million dollars, it is only realistic when the terms are realistic. The IM rush came with people selling the American dream... "a million dollars in only 6 months"... but that's just a dream.

2) Whatever your site is about, if it was only built to make money then good luck. Passion is more important than knowledge because it's what keeps you moving through those obstacles.

3) I'm really craving a Quizno's sub right now. Never been to one... any suggestions on what to order?

4) erniedawg- you identified your obstacle without realizing it. Yes, you SHOULD go outside. Go for a hike. Gaze at the stars/clouds/tall buildings/birds/pretty ladies/flowers but DO NOT gawk at "successful" people. You will NEVER find your own personal success through envy of what somebody else has. Know what I mean?

5) I like lists with odd numbers, so one final thought: Forget about the tools for a second, and everything else you described. Obviously you love working in IM, but you need a break from working every free second you get. That's no way to live, and THAT is why you don't feel rewarded.

The only way to succeed at anything is to take a step at a time. In IM that means pick one discipline (of the paid traffic sources, free traffic sources, or SEO) and achieve some sort of success before you do something else. Your experience so far has been getting a site sandboxed with crappy backlinks, getting banned from Adwords, and so on. In other words, you haven't even given yourself a chance to fail properly at one thing. Part of being new at IM will be failing dismally until you figure out how to make a given traffic source and revenue stream work for you. Until you have reasons to quit particular disciplines (like being able to say "SEO is not for me, because...") based on your experiences, you haven't failed at IM, you've failed at learning.

Your best best to have success with IM is to find a good mentor who can give you one-on-one guidance that can channel your time, effort and resources profitably for both of you. For example several noob-friendly affiliate networks have AMs that can get you really good really fast with paid traffic, and many clickbank publishers can give you great free traffic techniques to sell their stupid ebooks.
