So basically this is what I did

1.I got a picture from off of the web
2.I right clicked on the pic and went to property/details and put my URL in the comments
3.I then uploaded the pic thought tweet deck to twitpic.com
4.I then downloaded the my pic from Twitpic.com and checked to see if my URL was still in the comments and it was

does this me that I have a backlink from twitpic.com to my website?

if this has been done before go easy on me:rolleyes:

i dont know if metadata like that counts as a backlink although it definitely doesnt hurt. if someone downloaded your pic and looked at properties they would see your URL.

Something I put pics on photobucket, and go to the picture's "advanced tagging". You can specify portioins of the image as hotlinks to your URL. Then I share the pic on digg, etc.

Nice idea, however no it doesn't. If you want to gain from the image, watermarking it with your domain etc is the next best step.

Are photobucket tags no-follow? Meaning is their any value to the link?

it's possible that services such as google image search use things like tags or EXIF data when it's crawling images. It couldn't hurt to add urls and keywords to any images you generate.

When you go to "Link options" you have to use the Flash code for the tag hot links to work, not href or img src. Could you manually copy the Flash code into Facebook and try it?

If someone actually goes to your Photobucket album they'll be able to see the hotlinks.
