Positing url on the description? Direct or Shortened?

I wonder how are you guys doing it? and if there's an advantage/disadvantage of using shortened url on the description compared to positing the direct url?

One disadvantage of using shortened url is, it looks spammy and people tend to not visit it compare to a direct url which looks like more legit.

Though the problem with direct url is, it is vulnerable to youtube moderators where they can easily mass ban all your accounts by just searching your url.



Any other advantages/disadvantages can you guys offer in this thread?

It depends what you're linking to.

If you are linking to a CPA offer, or affiliate link, competitors may find your videos and copy your methods.

I'm not sure if YouTube staff do that mass ban thing, but I currently use 3 different link redirects to the same webpage, to stay on the safe side.

i use shortened urls (using many) so that if one gets banned youtube staff does not correlate banned video with other videos..maybe im being too cautious

Do shorten it mate. After I got 50% of my videos flagged today, I know what I am saying.
