For my local agency I want to include a portfolio section on my website for web design, but I don't have much to draw from. Any ideas where I can get some images of high-quality websites?

You can do what some newer agencies do to get clients to look at their “portfolio”:

- Create several subdomains that are niche related and seem real.
- Install a Wordpress template package related to their niche.
- Replace all of the text and wording with synthetic details.
- Get HideMyWP plugin to hide that you’re using a Wordpress theme.

This is blackhat(ish) but fake it till you make

Just build a decent site well. Why does a client need to see sites you’ve built if they’re on your website? If your site looks shit-hot that’s all the convincing they’ll need.

Speaking from experience here, you can certainly sell some clients on the basis of your own website’s design. When pressed about previous clients, you can claim An NDA is in place.

However, there are just some clients who won’t work with you if you can’t show previous work.

One could argue that you wouldn’t want to work with those clients anyways, but that depends on the project/quote.
