Porn Website

Wow bro, you are seriously going for it then. I checked Adent's once, specially looking into the cam script, but found it to be just way too expensive for me.
Have you ever been able to make the money back from your investments, or any money at all? Can u share your experience?

That cam script seems pretty decent but personally I haven't figured out how to market a cam site. Seems like a catch 22 to me where broadcasters won't waste their time without customers, and customers won't come without broadcasters.

I've always run the porn sites on a cash basis, I started ten years ago was just out of high school, at that point it was literally a blogger.com site with non-nude photos and a search engine box. I made $22 the first day that site was up (adsense paid real well back then), did about a grand a month from that for a few months but with a lot of repeat traffic the revenue started to drop pretty drastically. I let the site rot away at some point, domain expired years ago. Realistically I didn't see a blogger.com site with non-nude photos to be that great of a business plan; depending on adsense didn't seem like the best idea and I already knew other places weren't paying as much.

After that I dabbled in mirroring downloads, I took torrents from akiba-online's message board, download them, re upload to places like depfile, and then just post the links in their download sections as a mirror. This can still be done today, the same message board still exists, costs nothing to start except for having a very fast internet connection.

At that point I did drop shipping of sex toys for a while, along with producing porn. Made a couple videos, never made money off the videos and basically figured "no one's paying for porn, so I'll setup free sharing sites."

Then I had a few file sharing websites, just for files, before going to tube sites. Tube sites took A LOT of learning, which is why I've gone through script after script. I already grew up quite geeky working with Linux and such but getting everything to work properly was quite the challenge.

Last year I profited just over 20k but it's really a side gig for me. I have a regular job in tv, which is how things like drop shipping worked for me but I dumped as dealing with customer support didn't work very well when I had to travel around for work. So yeah, it's really just stuff to make sure I'm not bored.

The thing that people IMO get stuck on is it takes money to make money. The difference between spending money and not spending money is the difference between being able to scale; starting a business with no money is possible but in the case of porn you'll be uploading and doing everything yourself. If you spend a grand, now you can have user sharing, and it becomes automated. Once it's automated, then it becomes a trivial process to purchase a handful of niche domains, and sit back while your users do their thing.

1. Easy, they pretty much take anyone and there's so many networks, someone will approve you.
2. Yeah, sex still sells.
3. To begin with, just use ads.
4. Few months, at least. This isn't an overnight process and many ad networks pay NET30, so it'll never be quick.
5. Host outside the USA, and if you get a complaint just remove the content. That's usually easiest and you should have enough content to go around anyway.
6. Ideally, I colo my servers. Which brings me to point 7...
7. You're gravely wrong. Domains are cheap, hosting is not. Hosting is far, very far, from cheap when it comes to adult. If you want to half ass it, sure you can use some cheap server, but don't expect to make money. If you want to do it right, you want to make some good cash, then you're looking at dedicated servers. Quad CPU, 32-64gb RAM, SSD drives (and platter ones for the not so frequently accessed files), etc. You're also looking at $500 or so for any decent script. If you think you'll slap a site up with WordPress, forget it.

Adult sites are the largest bandwidth consumers in the world. You need massive CPU/Ram/HD to process and encode the videos in any decent amount of time, and you need insane bandwidth. Adult sites aren't too hard but every, single, successful one these days are run by geeks. Hardcore geeks. You need to be able to setup advanced servers, you need to be able to calculate how much bandwidth every user needs on average to make sure you're pulling in more money than you're putting out. The days of sticking up a few photos online and raking in money are long gone; you can still make exceedingly good money but you must be a hardcore geek to pull it off.

You mentioned hosted external and embedded on your site, that's not where the money is. Again, you can't half ass adult. Posting stuff from pornhub on your site, people will just go pornhub directly. You got to offer something better.

If you're looking for easy money, which is what I think you're after, move along. If you're looking for money, with some work, that can provide a stable income, then give it a try. That's why so many people say there's no money in adult. They're the ones that went online, posted a few photos, and are like "wtf bro!? I'm making 3 cents a day!?" but they're only getting like 200 visitors because why use their site? It's all hot linked BS from other places.

10-15 years ago, half ass worked, I made hundreds a day off a blogger.com site which was literally a search engine query box, some ads, and a single photo of a woman wearing a bikini (so I could use blogger's free hosting without getting shut down) that changed every day. I assume people set it as their homepage, which was the intention, and I made cash off the ads and any search engine use. What does that site make these days? ... about 3 cents a day. These days you need a great website as there are huge, huge, ones with all the content anyone could ever want out there.

Don't use adsense unless you want to get banned. They don't do adult, and I'm not even sure they accept bikini non-nude anymore like they used to. But yeah, it's possible, it's just not nearly as easy as you think. You're going up against some of the best minds in the tech industry.

What is the best hosting plan I should choose ?

What about SEO ?

Best hosting plan is one of those it depends scenarios. It depends on your budget, what you're doing, where most your users are located around the world, how many visitors you have, what sort of software you need, etc. No one will be able to say "use whatever.com" because there's no company that's the best for everyone.

I personally colo my own servers, as I've found most hosting companies don't know how to setup streaming specific things. Tell them you want to load balance KVS where you encode with ffmpeg on one box and another for storage their mind explodes or they want to bill me hundreds an hour to figure it out. If I have to manage my own systems, might as well colo IMO.

SEO. You got anything specific you want to know? In general, make sure you got unique titles and descriptions. Your images/videos are likely duplicate content, that's just the nature of porn, but you have to make Google think everything you got is unique.

@sewacuz you said; If you spend a grand, now you can have user sharing, and it becomes automated.
I am working on my first site now for some time and my plan is exactly this. Automated uploads by users. Can explain how I could make that happen?

The site becomes automated for you because the users upload content; that's a feature that's part of any high end script like KVS or MechBunny. The uploads are not happening by themselves as I think you're wanting videos to be scraped and appear under different user profiles. Doing that will likely screw up your SEO as you're left with duplicate content, you'll want the users to upload.

Hey guys,

This is my 3rd attempt at monetising a website, first I tried a niche news site, then a viral news site using Facebook as a source for traffic, however I wasn't very well versed in the copyright policies of Facebook so they both subsequently were deleted.

However, as Roosevelt once said there is no effort without error ;)... so here I am trying my 3rd site.

I am familiar with adsense, so I imagine juicyads etc are similar, correct me if i'm wrong here.

With that said, I have a few questions...

1. How difficult is it to get accepted as a publisher on the adult ad providers?
2. Is this method still working? I know a couple guys on here have had success with porn, any tips are welcomed.
3. Is using ads the best way to monetise? I have no experience with affiliates but would like to include this somehow.
4. For those that have had success with this, what sort of time-frame are we looking at to start seeing decent results?
5. What potential copyright issues are there? If my video is hosted on an external site and embedded on mine am I covered?
6. Any recommended hosts for my site?
7. What sort of investment are we looking at, I know domain and hosting is cheap, can't think of anything other expenses I'd have?

Anything else relevant please do let me know, I want to do my best to get something decent going with this.

Thanks in advance for replies!
1) JuicyAds is a great ad network and they will accept anyone no matter how much traffic your site is getting
2) Porn is saturated online so you need a good niche to stand out and drive traffic. Try looking into VR porn, its pretty new and will probably be the future of porn.
3) You can monetize a porn site through ad revenue and affiliates. When you choose an affiliate go to paid sites in your niche and just sign up. Almost all porn sites have an affiliate sign up at the bottom of their home page.
4) The time frame you are looking at is about 9 months to start seeing traffic organically and about a year to start seeing any real income.
5) I would not recommend hosting your own videos. Stick with a Wordpress site and get yourself a adult video import plugin like Tubeace. You can pull videos straight from Pornhub, Xvideos, Redtube etc. Stick with 10 minute promos to avoid copyright issues not the full length video. Porn paid sites release the promos for tube sites to promote so you will be okay to post those.
6) You are looking at an investment of less then $200 for Domain, shared hosting and a porn video plug in.

Let me know if you have any questions or if this helps you at all.
