Does any of you guys have experience with pop-up traffic and can recommend it? It seems to be very cheap but how effective is it?

This has been my experience so far. It seems like you really need to scale it up to before you can see results

Very effective for branding. Aliexpress also uses it.

I assume you mean pop-unders that will load a page on the popped window after a few redirects? I've known it to be very cheap, but it can be effective provided that your content is compelling enough to get multiple page views.

Got lots of traffic. Spending above >$10k
= zero conversion
Most of the traffic come from movies streaming website.
When you want to stream any free movie, your pc gonna get flood with bunch of ads and popup, that majority of people will [X] as fast as they can, because they wanted to focus on the movie.
For me, high quality traffic are targeted traffic from
SEO
Adwords
Social Media (Facebook, Reddit, YouTube) by focusing on group, R, topic that related with your niche
Forum
Rent banner space from buysellads.com and placed your banner on any web that related with your niche
Popup traffic only good for branding, if you're multi million/billion company that got nothing todo with your money, and you just want people keep remembering your 'brand'.

This is broadly my experience as well, but note that I have had success with certain incentivized traffic providers that aren't on that list.
I would also say (as an advertiser) that if a big-time brand thought it was good use of branding to run on pop-unders they were out of their minds!
