Poor exoclick earnings, thinking about jumping ship

I have 36k followers between several blogs (1 sfw blog with 22k followers, the rest nsfw), about 2-3k impressions a day with 1% click ratio, and I earn about 17 cents per 1k impressions. I'm not complaning as it might be my fault (traffic might not be high quality); I'm just wondering how I can redirect this to be more profitable for me (without getting the blogs banned ofc). Any ideas? Thanks!

I would say you're earning above average for the setup you've described. What this means is that your time would be better spent optimizing the setup than optimizing revenue.

Heya, thanks for responding. If I boosted my impressions by something crazy like a hundred fold (200-300k impressions a day), that'd equate to $17 daily. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic regardless of the method, but that's a lot of work and a lot of risk (tumblr blogs get banned constantly, though i haven't experienced this personally).

Not a matter of expectations necessarily, but a matter of very narrow extrapolation base. You're approximately in the position of the "global warming" pseudoscientists, trying to somehow parlay 30 years of half-decent records and another 50 or so years of very dubious records into judgements about evolutions stretching millions of years. The data to reason with just isn't there yet.

Sorry but I don't think it works that way
The quality of traffic is the one that counts, more numbers don't necessarily mean better monetization, and this as true as the fact that monetization doesn't need to be big only for huge volumes of traffic.
It's like consumer products: some cost less, some cost more, it's all in who sell them to you and how the value is presented to you.

So what I'm trying to say is that the better quality of your blogs, the better quality of your traffic and, thus, higher chances of monetization. I mean everybody loves quality traffic

Followers does not equal money.

And where is it than? - money is in the data.
You simply need to test lot of things. Make some little blogs you dont care about and do some crazy sheat. Apply to different networks CPA, CPI OMG WTF...and test again... There is a money.
