While i'm not that new to IM and have made a few successful projects and sites, I figured what better way to make an internet business then to sell to the marketers themselves.

I am an actually programmer, it is my job! I'm not just some random shmuck on the internet looking to get rich however I can. I know a few languages including Java, C/C++, C# & VB,Net.

I have seen lots of different bot software lately, and I've seen it go from 5$ for a simple little bot that does 1 task to $800 for a program that can create any bot you could possibly need with a few clicks.

So what I want to know is, what are you looking for in your bot software?
Do you want it to be a simple visual building interface to create a bot
Do you want something with premade bots built in that do their job flawlessly
or Do you want it to be somewhat simple with say a basic visual editor and an extensive yet simple scripting language?

Let me know what your ideal bot software would be like!

Good thread. Me I never thought about IM until the middle of this year, check my join date. :)

But that said yes I would love to automate some processes to help speed thing along.

While I can get around a computer and have figured out some basic HTML for instance I am by no means a pro.

For me, I would like something easy to use that can generate a report. Customization would be nice, but if left up to me I would be lost and it would take time from what I want to do...sell SEO services to businesses.

I have played around with sick submitter for instance and while it seems pretty easy to use and straight forward it fails on most of the things I want to do. The answer is creating new lists, but I dont know enough about that to format it the right way and no aside from the cost of the software, for me to find a solution means I would have to pay for a list that works.

    That is an example.

To me though the ultimate bot would be one that randomly picks backlinks to your web 2.0.

So for instance a web 2.0 is the building block of your backlinking strategy. Included is a social bookmarker, article submitter, directory submitter, video submitter, blog commenter. This UBER BOT would randomly select which type and how many of each type to backlink to each web 2.0 in your 1st tier, thus mimicking a true natural growth progression of a website.

But see then something like this would either require constant support or $$$ from someone like me who cannot code the bot to do it;s job or find new web 2.0's, bookmarking sites etc.. to add to its list.

Bots that are updated right away and will still work flawlessly.

Maybe a software that has AIO bots, and you just download bot modules the same way you download Scrapebox modules.

To be honest with you, IF I explain you what for I need a bot and what I would like from him to automate, that will actually spoil my money making idea :) Dont you think so?

Anyway, since I havent found bot that is capable enough to do the job that I need, I have started to learn programming. For now, I`m doing all manually and I hope that in a few months I`ll learn just enough to create bot that I need.

Just wanted to ask, since I`m new into programming, what languages you recommend for bot creation? I have started to learn CURL... Do you think that using CURL I can create solid bot?

    Thanks for your answer ;)

I don't think you would get anywhere with curl but here is something I posted regarding a similar question:

I would say we need more "bot environments", better environments than sicksubmitter, where you can create your own "bot" in a few minutes for any platform but what is very buggy and not that stable.
but something like this would be awesome! an arsenal of "snippets" like, fill all the forms, crack the captcha, validate the things ... you know what i mean!

    Hi.
For start I think a new tool for social bookmarking is needed for pligg, scuttle, phpdug.
Create profiles and report the actual url of your "story". All tools available today are reporting the website or the profile url for successful posts, but not the actual url.
And it's a pain in the a$$ to create reports for others, because you can't say to a client: hey I created some links on this website: www.example.com, but I don't know exact url with your promotional message, go and search on the website if you want...
I don't need it to verify emails.
If you do this I'll be first buyer.
