Woops, I voted for niche only. But when I think about it, I have really only ever gone after niches.

I have my own personal Bots that I developed, That do Forum profile links, So basically Xrumer. And I only need about 100 on high high PR sites to atleast make front page for any medium size niche. And then I use other tactics if it is a highly competitive term.

I would say for competitive terms, I need to do a bit of manual leg work to get to the top.

For competitive keywords XRumer isn't enough. XRumer will give you that nice boost to the top 100 or so results, and it might put a bit more icing on the cake later on, but you will really need some top notch good quality links that only manual work can bring in. With keywords that have more than 50 million results and of course are moderately competitive, you will need about 50/50 manual and auto work.

Xrumer can only do so much...The hardest part of xrumer is getting the thousands of links indexed...It becomes the most frustrating after awhile..

Did you try to collect your successfuls and mass-posting those? Maybe partitioned in large blocks?

Yes it is very effective for me cookies, sounds like you have all the right tools too. I don't use SEnuke myself though, too expensive monthly imho.

:heh: I use semi autobots for mostly all of my personal sites, i sometimes find i have been sand boxed, but when i do a few social and high pr link wheels which i even use roboform autofill for. i find i am out of the box in a couple of weeks mixed with xrumer blasts,(which at the moment are cheap and saves a lot of effort) i get all around link Juice and good results.

I personally never use any bots but whenever I need to get into the top ten for a competitive term and know for a fact that a lot of manual work needs to be done I outsources it to guys who build mini nets by hand and that does the trick

Xrumer and scrapebox work very well for me but they can't make first page for competitive keywords. I do some manual link building to accomplish this. But they really help a lot. Xrumer can push any site for any keyword to top 50. Then you need to do some high PR backlinks to finish the job.

Xrumer can only do so much. Then like everyone else said you need some manual link building. Finding blogs and forum pages with high pr so that you can build links on those pages will push you to the top.

Also who settles for just the first page. You need to go after the top 3 spots if you really want the traffic/money.
